Info | Bobbi Bennett was born in Essex County and moved to West Orange in 1978, where she and her husband, John, raised four children: Mike, Steve, Joe and Jennifer. Two of her sons became US Marines. A freelance writer and president of Common Sense for Today, Bobbi has authored award-winning educational programs and is the former V.P. of a telecommunications firm in Orange. "I know this district. I have concrete experience designing programs that give teachers real tools to educate children. I know what it takes to run a business in NJ, and I know the challenges facing NJ's working families," states Bennett.
Although this is her first run for office, Bobbi is no stranger to politics. " I grew up with a dad who was active and taught me how to stand on principle and make an impact. At 18, I was vice chair of the Essex County Young Republicans; I later served on County Committee in Verona and West Orange. As a result, I worked in local, state and national campaigns and helped my dad promote legislation that gave us vested pensions and the right to cancel a contract within 3 days."
