Infoim is currently elected to the Salt Lake County Council as a countywide member serving a six-year term from 2001 – 2006. He is a consultant in areas of government affairs, energy, waste management, organizational development, planning and zoning, and policy development.

Jim is the father of four children. He and his wife, Glenda, own and operate The Framery, a small business located at 1500 East and 1500 South.

Jim served as Chair of the Salt Lake County Board of County Commissioners from 1991 to 1994. He was Director of the Utah State Energy Office during the 1980’s. Jim has served on the Executive Board of the Economic Development Corporation of Utah, Chair of the Salt Lake County Council of Governments, Director of the Utah Energy Conservation and Resource Development Council, Executive Board of the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau, and was a member of the United States Department of Interior Regional Oil Shale Team. He is past President of the Board of Trustees for the Children’s Service Society of Utah, a member of the Sundance Institute Advisory Board, Utahans for Choice Advisory Board, and the Salt Lake Art Center Friends of Contemporary Art.
