InfoJames Eugene "Jim" Snyder, Jr.

First and foremost Jim is the grandfather of Maggie, Olivia and Will, is the father of two daughters and is Sandra's husband of thirty-five years. From the 1700's his father's family has lived in Davidson County and his mother's family in Wake County. His father, a legislator and lawyer, was one of the few strong conservative Republican voices in North Carolina in the mid-twentieth century. His mother, reared on a tobacco farm, was a teacher and "disciplinarian".

With the guidance and inspiration he pursued politics at a young age, serving as high school student body president, senior class president at Wake Forest College and class president at the Wake Forest University School of Law. He received the John Motley "Morehead" Scholarship and initially attended UNC-CH. He went on to play basketball for the legendary Bones McKinney and to graduate from Wake Forest.

Having been selected as one of the five outstanding young men in North Carolina, for three decades he has represented the interests of individuals against the powers of the government and large insurance companies and has involved himself with the most complex litigation processes.

In the late 1980's his literary efforts began. Currently twelve books have been published (three are third editions) consisting of in excess of two million words and sixty-five hundred pages. These primarily are treatises about corporation law and insurance law. He is believed to be the most prolific legal writer in North Carolina history. More recent publications include a novel and a book of prayers entitled A Lawyer Prays God's Will for his Clients.
