Councilman
Julián Castro represents City Council District 7.
In 2001, Julián, 30, was elected at the age of 26 to the San Antonio City Council and reelected to a second term in 2003. Councilman Castro practices law with the firm Gonzales, Hoblit & Ferguson LLP and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Julián, graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1992, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in Political Science and Communication from Stanford University in 1996, and received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2000. Prior to completing his law degree, Julián served as a White House intern and later a substitute teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School.
Councilman Castro chairs two City Council committees, the Urban Affairs committee and the Inter-Governmental Relations committee.
