Info | Timothy E. Demler, 46, is the elected Supervisor of the Town of Wheatfield. Demler now serves in his 6th term after first being elected in 1995. Supervisor Demler is married to Dr. Tammie Lee Demler, President of the pharmacist Society of the State of New York, and four-term President of the Pharmacist Association for Western New York. They have three children, Lisa, 16, Michael, 12 and Matthew, 9.
The son of Eugene and Lois Demler, Tim Demler graduated from Tonawanda High School in 1978 where he was Senior Class President. It was during high school that Demler became active in local politics, becoming a Republican Committee Member at age 18. Three years later, Demler became the youngest chairman of the Tonawanda Republican Committee, a record that still stands.
While attending the State University College at Buffalo, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration, Demler made his first run for public office in an unsuccessful attempt for the Tonawanda City Council.
1984 – Started the TEDCO Group, advertising and printing. Relocated to the Town of Wheatfield in 1990.
1995 – Successfully challenged an 8-year incumbent Democrat for Wheatfield Town Supervisor
10 year Record:
§ Served as Chairman of the Love Canal Area Revitalization Agency. LCARA rehabilitated and rebuilt much of the area that surrounded the now secured waste site. At the end of its mission, Demler requested that agency be dissolved, and in the process returned over $1.6 Million to the US Environmental Protection Agency and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
§ Lowered taxes on average of $400.00 per household
§ Maintain surplus reserves
§ New community center
§ Provided new sewer system for the entire town
§ New youth center
§ Expanded senior programs / senior bus service
§ New recreation programs
§ Infrastructure improvements
§ Fostered environment that attracts 150-200 new homes each year
Now Supervisor Demler is seeking the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor and he believes that his record of success in Wheatfield and his knowledge of upstate New York’s needs provide him the unique skill to help our next Republican governor continue to reform New York State.
