InfoSenator Richard Rosen, the Assistant Senate Republican Leader, is serving his second term in the State Senate, where he represents District 31, which includes parts of Penobscot and Hancock Counties. During his first term in the Senate, he was a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services, and the Joint Select Committee on Tax Reform.

Prior to his election to the Senate, Senator Rosen served in the State House of Representatives from 1998-2004, where he was a member of the Committees on: Utilities and Energy, House Ethics, Appropriations & Financial Affairs, Maine Economic Growth Council, and House Elections.

A Maine native, the Senator grew up working at his family’s clothing store, ‘Rosen’s Department Store’, which was established in 1910, and he continues to operate the store today.

He credits this experience as the reason behind his passion for hard work, his commitment to family and his pride in the State of Maine.

Senator Rosen served as the first president of the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce. He is currently Board President of National Historic Film, and a 30 year member of the board of the Bucksport Regional Health Center.

Senator Rosen and his wife, Representative Kimberley Rosen of House District 40, reside in Bucksport, and have two grown children.
