InfoFor almost twenty years, Jerry Brady has been a familiar and influential voice in eastern Idaho as publisher of the Idaho Falls Post-Register and President of the Post Company. With an additional twenty years of experience in government, economics and law, Jerry sought to continue his role as a leader and activist as the next Governor of Idaho.

Jerry decisively defeated his opponent in the May primary election for the Democratic nomination for Governor, taking 88% of the Democratic vote. He faced GOP Governor Dirk Kempthorne in November, who received only two-thirds of the Republican vote -- a surprisingly low percentage for a Republican incumbent. In the general election, he garnered an impressive 45% of the vote.

After announcing his candidacy in March of 2002, Jerry surpassed all expectations by quickly raising $219,000 to Kempthornes $247,000 (as disclosed in this years first Sunshine Reports, May 15th).

If elected, Jerry will follow in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, James H. Brady, who held the office of Governor of Idaho from 1909 to 1910 and U.S. Senator from 1913 to 1918. Jerry is married to Rickie Orchin Brady. They have five children.
