InfoRep. Marraché is a family doctor and partner with her husband, Ronnie, in Elm City Medical Associates located on Silver Street. She specializes in family medicine and gynecology. She completed her medical residency while serving her first session in the Maine State Legislature. She and her father, Paul Tessier of Fairfield, made up the first father-daughter legislative team in Maine. She previously served as a city councilor and ward clerk in Waterville.

Rep. Marraché has focused much of her attention on health care issues. She was the prime sponsor of a bill that established a purchasing alliance allowing small business and uninsured individuals access to health insurance on an aggregate group basis. She also co-sponsored a bill that seeks to lower health insurance costs in the small group market.

She attended a two-week political study program in China in 2002 that provides young leaders an opportunity to learn about the differences in governments, cultures and social issues in foreign countries. She was also selected to participate in the Foreign Policy Institute for State Legislators focused on preparing women legislators as leaders on U.S. foreign policy and foreign assistance in the fields of population and development.

Marraché is the mother of two children and is an active member of the Maine HIV Advisory Council, the Women’s Legislative Caucus, the Maine Historical Society and is the founder of the Franco-American Heritage Society of Greater Waterville.
