Dudley has been a vocal advocate for improving the quality of life issues for her community. Dudley is wife to Alfred R. Dudley, mother of two Joyce and Alfred III, and a 4th grade teacher at Rogers Heights Elementary School in Bladensburg. She is active in several civic groups and boards, and is currently serving as the Chair of the Citizen?s Advisory to the Chief of Prince George's County. She was awarded the Civic Federation's Journal Cup Civic Service Award in 1996. Dudley is respected in the community for her integrity, leadership, and her ability to accomplish tasks on a grassroots level. One local media outlet described Dudley as 'Unabashed Educator'.

Among her many offices, Theresa has been the Chair of the Prince George?s County Chief of Police Citizen?s Advisory Committee, President of the Rogers Heights PTA, President and Business Manager of the Kentland Civic Association, Secretary and Treasurer of the Coalition of Central Prince George's County Community Organizations, Debate and Forum Chair of the Prince George's County League of Women Voters, and At-Large Board Member of the Prince George?s County Civic Federation.

Theresa?s main campaign issues are: the Iraqi War, the Inter-County Connector, Gambling at National Harbor, a Living Wage, and Campaign Finance and Ethics.

1998, 2002 Democratic candidate for Prince Georges County Council District 5 (lost Primary).
