InfoOn March 24, 1998, Frank Corbett joined 18 other New Democrats in the Legislature, forming the largest NDP caucus in Nova Scotia history, and was re-elected in 1999 and 2003.

Frank, was born and raised in New Waterford. Prior to his election, he worked as a News Cameraman with ATV (Atlantic Television). Frank was educated at St. Agnes High School in New Waterford.

An active trade unionist, Frank is the former president of CEP (Communications, Energy, and Paperworkers Union), Local 914 M (ATV); past Regional Vice President of NABET (National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians); former Staff Rep for NABET; and a past CLC (Canadian Labour Congress) representative.

Frank is also an avtive community volunteer. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Childrens' Aid Society, he spearheaded and produced the Christmas Daddies show for 10 years, and he served on the Board of the 100th Anniversary of St. Joseph's Church in Lingan.

Frank's involvement in the Party is long. He's been a Party member for over 25 years, involving himself at every level. He worked on campaigns, both federal and provincial, and has been active on the constituency executive.
Frank is the NDP Labour critic. He has been very active in demanding improvements to Workers' Compensation and Occupation Health and Safety regulations. Frank also introduced legislation to improve collective bargaining rights in Nova Scotia.

Frank lives in New Waterford with his wife Joan and their two children, Steven and Erin.
