InfoTom Manley, grandson of long-time Liberal MPP Peter Manley, is the proud Liberal candidate for Stormont-Dundas-South Glengarry.

Owner of Ontario’s leading organic agri-service business, Homestead Organics in Berwick, Mr. Manley began his political life at a very young age. Born into a political family, he was active in student government and, at age 17, was the president of the riding’s Young Liberal Association. His grandfather served as Liberal MPP for 12 years in the 1950s and ‘60s.

Growing up on the family dairy farm in Eastern Ontario, Mr. Manley has served as the telecommunications officer at the Canadian Forces Base Montreal, network engineer for the lottery system at Loto-Québec and Bell Canada, and marketing project leader for the development and launch of the Bell Sympatico Internet Service. He took over the grain and feed processing on the family farm and moved Homestead Organics to Berwick in 1997.

Mr. Manley has also been president of a multi-cultural housing cooperative in Montréal and chairperson of the Ottawa Chapter of Canadian Organic Growers. He is an active member of several chambers of commerce and farm business organizations.

Tom took his concerns about sustainability into active politics as a candidate for the Green Party in the Provincial election in October 2003, and in the Federal election of June 2004. Tom recently resigned as the Agriculture Advocate and the Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Canada to join the Liberal Party.
