Van de Water; reelected to the Sixty-eighth and Sixty-ninth Congresses (February 15, 1921-March 3, 1927); did not seek renomination, but was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination as United States Senator in 1926; died on October 9, 1943, in Santa Barbara, Calif.; interment in Santa Barbara Cemetery, Santa Barbara, Calif.
