Merv Tweed was first elected to the House of Commons in June, 2004.

Mr. Tweed served as Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism in the province of Manitoba. He served 9 years as MLA for Turtle Mountain in the Manitoba Legislature. He also served 5 years as a municipal councilor.

Merv Tweed owned and operated a successful family business for several years before entering politics.

A graduate of Brandon University, he has been a very active supporter of community and recreational affairs.

Merv and his wife, Bev, have 3 children, Jennifer, Charles and Matthew.
