Info | Ken Boshcoff is the Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay-Rainy River.
Ken was born and raised in Fort William, receiving his Honours Bachelor of Arts, Political Science and Economics from Lakehead University and his Masters Degree in Environmental Studies, Systems Planning from York University.
Ken began his career with the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs before moving into the insurance industry in the late 1970’s, serving as Vice President for Reed Stenhouse and Boshcoff & Associates.
The extensive list of community organizations that Ken has been involved with includes social, economic, business and arts groups from across the country.
In 1978, Ken was elected to Council for the City of Thunder Bay. He served as a City Councillor until 1997 when he was elected Mayor, a job which he thrived in for 6 years. He also served as President of the Ontario Roads Association, the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.
Ken was elected to Parliament in June 2004 where he serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Operations and Estimates and as chair of the Subcommittee on the Status for Persons With Disabilities.
