InfoAllen Quist served three terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1983 to 1988. In the Minnesota House, he served as Chairman of the Social Services Subcommittee and also served on the House Education Committee. He was chief author of the bill that created Minnesota’s Department of Jobs and Training. Quist authored the bill and played the leading legislative role in legalizing home schools in Minnesota. Quist was recipient of numerous legislative awards, including awards from the National Federation of Independent Businesses, MCCL, and the LEA (for following our Constitutional principles). He was one of seven delegates elected from Minnesota to the White House Conference on Families in 1980. Over the years, he has been state chairman for three different presidential campaigns.

Allen Quist is a retired professor of political science at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota. He also served as wrestling coach, debate coach, faculty chairman, and chairman of the college finance committee.

Quist is a nationally recognized author and speaker on numerous topics including the federal No Child Left Behind law, the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the myth of global warming, Agenda 21, integrated math, and the controversial International Baccalaureate curriculum. He has authored five books, the most recent being America’s Schools: The Battleground for Freedom. Quist authored the best-selling book, FedEd: The New Federal Curriculum and How It’s Enforced. Together with his son, Quist also owns and operates a highly successful 800 acre farm in rural St. Peter, Minnesota.

In 2009, Quist’s investigation uncovered and blew the whistle on the huge marriage penalty in the health care bill—a penalty that was not removed before the bill was adopted by Congress. He also identified, before the health care bill was adopted, the massive income redistribution that is built into that legislation.

Allen Quist has been a member of two school boards and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College (St. Peter, MN), a Master of Arts degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a Bachelor of Divinity degree from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary (Mankato, MN).

Quist and his wife Julie have ten children and many grandchildren.
