|Info||Indiana's 59th Secretary of State, Todd Rokita, is the second youngest secretary of state in the nation at the age of 32. Rokita is the highest Republican officeholder in the state and the 3rd highest officeholder in the state. While serving in the Secretary of State's Office as the Deputy Secretary of State and in other positions, Rokita helped to implement user-friendly e-government services, provided tougher securities enforcement, and championed significant election reform that have been duplicated in states ranging from Maine to Nebraska. Using experience gained as counsel to Indiana's Recount Commission, Rokita was involved in the 2000 Florida recount in seven southwestern counties. |
A graduate of Wabash College with an A.B. in Political Science, Rokita's time at Wabash was distinguished by his selection as an Eli Lilly Fellow. Thereafter, he earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. Following his academic experiences, Todd commenced his real world education as a practicing attorney. In his law practice, Todd counseled both business and individual clients and through this gained insight into the importance of the office of Secretary of State.
A native of Munster, community service is also important to Todd. He is a member of St. Thomas More Parish and is actively involved with Brookside Elementary School. Rokita is a co-founder of a charitable organization committed to helping sick Hoosier children and their families by flying them at no cost to medical facilities throughout the Midwest for treatment.
