| Info | Deputy Leader of Renua Ireland Billy Timmins (56) has been a TD for Wicklow since 1997. He succeed his father Godfrey Timmins, who was retiring, as TD for Wicklow and has held his seat ever since. Expelled from the Fine Gael parliamentary party in 2013 for voting against the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill, he and six other Fine Gael expellees formed the Reform Alliance – which would go on to form the foundations of Renua Ireland. During his time with Fine Gael, Deputy Timmins was spokesperson for Agriculture and Food, Defence and Foreign Affairs. A former army officer, he served as a United Nations peacekeeper in Lebanon for a six months between 1984 and 1985. Among the policies he favours is the introduction of a flat tax system.
