Known as a tough-minded fiscal conservative who can balance budgets and cut government waste, businessman Sam Blakeslee looks to utilize his business and leadership skills in his bid for election to the 33rd Assembly District.
Sam is the owner of Blakeslee and Blakeslee, an investment firm, and it also a community activist. After the San Luis Obispo City Council passed a resolution condemning the war in Iraq, Sam supported our President by establishing the "Freedom Is Not Free" campaign to show support for our troops.
Sam believes that Californians are overtaxed, and his pledge to the voters is simple: No New Taxes. Instead, he looks to support a Constitutional Amendment that would force California to adopt a Spending Cap on its budget. In addition, he realizes that we must nurture the Central Valley�s farmers because they feed not only California, but the world as well. He pledges to protect these individuals and advocate on their behalf in Sacramento.
San Blakeslee holds a Bachelor�s and Master�s degree in Geophysics from the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds a PhD in Geophysics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He currently resides in San Luis Obispo, where he and his wife Kara raise two young daughters.
