InfoJames H. Anderson was born in Princeton, Kentucky, in 1954. He was raised in Montgomery, Alabama and attended Huntingdon College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1976. James attended Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate in 1979.

James is a senior shareholder in the Montgomery office. His practice consists primarily of litigation with a focus on insurance defense, life insurance defense, worker’s compensation, products liability, personal injury, political law, ethics law and election campaign law. A significant portion of James’ practice currently involves mediation and arbitration. He has been certified by the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution as a Mediator, Appellate Mediator and Arbitrator. James is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest ranking provided by that organization, based upon peer review by other lawyers and judges.

James maintains a membership in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association as well as the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association. He has served as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar, State Law Day Chairman, President of the Hugh Maddox Inn of Court, and former Chairman of the Ethics Commission for the State of Alabama. James currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Bar Commissioners of the Alabama State Bar.

James is admitted to and has tried cases in State Courts throughout the entire State of Alabama as well as the Federal Districts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Alabama. His appellate work has included cases before the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, the Alabama Supreme Court, the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
