Representative Patricia Pike, a Republican, represents Vernon and a majority of Bates County (District 126) in the Missouri House of Representatives. She was elected to her first two-year term in November 2014.

Rep. Pike is the daughter of Lela Geraldine and William Dudley Long Jr, a World War II Navy Veteran. She grew up helping her parents on their family farm, involved in 4-H and many other community activities. She is a graduate of Adrian High School and received Bachelor’s, Master’s Degrees and Advanced Counseling Certification from the University of Central Missouri.

She retired in 2014 after 36 years as a High School Guidance Counselor, Family and Consumer Science Teacher and Parents as Teachers Coordinator. As an educator, she also taught dual credit coursework through Metropolitan Community College, served as an ACT test center coordinator, wrote and administered the A+ grant program, sponsored many students in national and state FCCLA events, and served as a consumer education in-service coordinator for teachers in the mid-western United States.

In addition to her legislative duties, she is a business and farm owner. Rep Pike is active in her district with Chambers of Commerce, library board, civic and service organizations. She is a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church, Missouri Cattlemen Association, Missouri Farm Bureau and the NRA. For several years, she has been a White House volunteer at the annual Easter Egg Roll in Washington DC.

Born October 19, 1954, Representative Pike succeeded her husband, Randy W. Pike, in office. They have two children, Dillion Pike (Channing) and Dr. Michelle Pike, as well as two granddaughters, Isabella Bo Pike and Josephine Harper Pike.
