| Info | Leslie Geissler Munger was sworn in as Illinois State Comptroller on January 12, 2015. Comptroller Munger is a native Illinoisan, earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois and her master’s degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
She is a former brand management business executive with Unilever Helene Curtis, where she led the $800 million U.S. Hair Care business. There, she led the development of annual and long term business plans, managed large budgets, and delivered financial results. Earlier in her career, Munger also worked for Procter & Gamble and McKinsey and Company, Inc.
She is an active community leader and volunteer, and was honored as Lincolnshire’s Citizen of the Year in 2004. She is a long time volunteer and former Board member at the Riverside Foundation, a not-for-profit residential facility for developmentally disabled adults in Lincolnshire where she was the Volunteer of the Year in 2013 and the Distinguished Service Award Honoree in 2016.
Comptroller Munger served on the School District 103 Foundation Board for 7 years, spending 3 of those years as President and on the University of Illinois Student Affairs Advisory Council for 3 years.
Comptroller Munger lives in Lincolnshire with her husband, John, who is an intellectual property law attorney. They have two adult sons, Tom and Andy, and two dogs, Maddie & Daisy.
