Info | Professional Engineer David Bruderly has long been an Alachua County resident. He has two children, David and Heidi, and three grandchildren. He is President of Clean Power Engineering Company, and has been an environmental engineering consultant and advocate for alternative energy technologies for 32 years.
He currently serves as a member of the Clean Fuel Florida Advisory Board and was a member of the Energy Advisory Committee of Governor Chiles? Commission for a Sustainable South Florida.
He is a member of the Sound Science Initiative of the Union of Concerned Scientists. He was a founding member of the US Delegation to ISO TC 197 - Hydrogen Technologies, and has served on a variety of working groups since 1990.
He also serves as a Director of the following non-profit organizations: the Florida Hydrogen Business Council, Sustainable Alachua County, Florida Defenders of the Environment, and Cross Creek Initiative. He is Past President of the local Florida Engineering Society chapter, and past Chair of the local Sierra Club chapter.
He holds a BS in Marine Engineering/Transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, and an MS Engineering from Columbia University. He is a Vietnam-era US Navy veteran, USNR (Retired). Past employers include the US Navy, Roy F. Weston, Inc., ESE, Inc. the Harbor Branch Foundation, and Lamont Geological Observatory.
