Info | Christine Cegelis (pronounced seg-alice) was the Democratic Nominee for Congress in the 6th District of Illinois in 2004.
Christine Cegelis knows the value of hard work. In order to attend college, she worked as a desk clerk in a hotel at night after class. She was a telephone operator and joined the Communications Workers of America. All of that hard work paid off when she earned her Bachelor?s Degree from Florida State University in International Relations and Public Administration. Upon completion of the degree in 1976, Christine was one of the few, select women trained in the field of Information Technology for Eastern Airlines. In 1986 she moved to Illinois to work for United Airlines in its IT department. She then opened her own IT consulting firm which worked with Fortune 100 clients in sales and marketing.
Christine Cegelis understands the problems moms and dads go through everyday to support a family in Illinois? 6th District. Christine currently has two sons in college and is helping her 83 year-old mother pay the costs of the prescription drugs she requires to live a normal life, which puts a huge strain on the family budget.
