| Info | Growing up in Waukesha, I feel a deep appreciation for everything that our great state has to offer. I graduated from high school here. I’ve worked, fished, and lived here. And over the past few years, I’ve experienced firsthand our state heading in the wrong direction.
Having worked on several political campaigns dating back to 2006, my personal tipping point came in early 2011. The Republican takeover of Wisconsin, and Walker’s agenda being subsequently forced through the state legislature, made me question where the state was headed. That brand of self-serving political gamesmanship was not the Wisconsin I’d grown up in, and it wasn’t the future that I wanted for anyone.
For as ugly and partisan as the Republicans’ tactics were, I was equally moved to action by the supporters from around the country who descended upon the capitol in early 2011. Alongside thousands of others, I was out in the cold nearly every day, contributing to the purest form of democracy in action that I may ever witness in my life. The collective spirit of all those present during those weeks, of a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, led me to dive deeper into the issues facing every single Wisconsinite.
Along with campaigning across the 98th, and volunteering with the Recall efforts, I am currently employed by the Fund for the Public Interest, which assists in the fundraising efforts of such organizations as Wisconsin Environment and WISPIRG.
