InfoLeticia Hinojosa, 46 was born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. Leticia Hinojosa attended the University of Texas at Austin and then the University of Texas Law School. Upon graduation, she lived and practiced law in Austin for 2 years.

In 1984, Leticia Hinojosa moved to Weslaco where she practiced law and joined the firm of Lauderdale and Vela.as a partner.

In 1989, was appointed and subsequently elected the first female County-Court at Law Judge in the Rio Grande valley. In l996 she was elected as Judge of the 139th State District Court.

She has been very active in civic organizations. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts, Child Protective Services, and Court Appointed Special Advocates. She is currently a Rotarian.

In January 2004, she stepped down from the bench to run for the newly created 25th Congressional District. The District consists of portions of Hidalgo and Travis County and all of Duval, Jim Hogg, Live Oak, Karnes, Gonzales, and Caldwell.

Leticia Hinojosa believes she is the best candidate for District 25 because she shares many of the life experiences as those who she wishes to represent. Hinojosa grew up in a rural community and worked her way through school. As a Judge and an attorney she saw first hand the problems which our communities and families face. She intends to put her experience to work for the betterment of the families of District
