Your next Congressional Representative from the 16th District in Illinois!Wanda is a self-described progressive Democrat who has the leadership qualities, experience, and courage to fight for every citizen in the 16th. She's a lifelong rural Illinoisan and longtime hospice caretaker who understands what it means to be a hard-working American.
Wanda graduated from Illinois Valley Community College with a degree in human services in 2008, received her Bachelors’ Degree in Social Work from Aurora University in 2010, and her Masters’ Degree in Social Work from Aurora in 2011. She lives with her husband Jay near Ottawa, Ill. She and Jay are loving parents to three sons, Tyler, Austin and Mason.
Her values are our values:
Transparency in government, support for civil rights, standing up for civil liberties, fighting for health care and rights for the disabled, protecting our environment, protecting our veterans and taking care of our active-duty military and their families. She adamantly opposes Citizens United and the growing influx of corporate and secret cash into politics, and will fight to keep our government accountable to you. She will stand up for working- and middle-class Illinoisans.
This is a critical time in our country’s history, and especially in the 16th district. Twenty years of Republican representation have done little to help the working and middle class.
