InfoAbout Me: Born May 19th, 1965, the second son of Oscar and Sylvia Johnson atop Fort Fincastle, Nassau, Dr. Johnson always saw public service as necessary to a useful life. His father served as the MP for Cat Island. His mother served in the Women’s Movement and later became matron of the Children’s Emergency Hostel off Carmichael Road. Enoch Pedro Roberts – grandfather – was Dr. Johnson’s most important teacher and early guide.

Education: Dr. Johnson’s education began at Queen’s College. From there he studied Basic Medical Studies at John Abbot College, Montreal, Canada. He also received a degree in Neuropsychology at McGill University and a Master’s degree in Classic Psychoanalysis before training at Antioch International University and Guy’s Hospital, London. Dr. Johnson was later provided with a scholarship from the Commonwealth Fellowship Board to study Podiatric Medicine and Limb Preservation at Westminister University, University College Hospital and The London Foot Hospital and School of Podiatric Medicine.

Civics/Social: Dr. Johnson established The Foot and Ankle Institute. He later co-founded Auskel Advanced Medical Clinic at Marsh Harbour, Abaco. Dr. Johnson has been the lead research fellow for the Life Extension Foundation’s World Diabetes Project.

Professional/Career: Dr. Johnson has been the lead research fellow for the Life Extension Foundation World Diabetes Project, and a director of The Bahamas Medical Arts Institute. He now serves as medical director of WeCare and the Walk-In Medical Clinics. Dr. Johnson has been an advocate for medical innovation and affordable health care for all Bahamians. He is also CEO of Fort Charlotte SurgiCenter and has clinical associations in New York, Atlanta and Miami.
