InfoMohamud Noor lives with his wife and three children in Northeast Minneapolis. Noor recently resigned his position as a Systems Administrator with the Minnesota Department of Human Services to focus on his campaign for State Senate. He was previously employed at Hennepin County, Families Division. Mohamud received his B.S. in Computer Science from Metropolitan State University.

The Noor family is proud to be a union household. His wife Farhiya Del works in the Minneapolis Public Schools and is a member of MFT Local 59. Until his recent resignation, Noor was an active member of MAPE.

Mohamud oversaw Minnesota’s implementation of early Medicaid expansion as a systems administrator for the state’s Department of Human Services. He also managed eligibility systems at Hennepin County’s Families Division for programs such as food supports, health care, housing and child care assistance.

Beyond his service as a public employee, Mohamud Noor has been an active community member.

Noor chaired the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota and served on the Board of Governors of The Children’s Theatre Company. Noor was also appointed by the Governor to two terms on the Council on Black Minnesotans Mohamud is a long-time public employee and a card-carrying union member.
