InfoDarren Winston Peters was born in Charlottetown, is the son of Julie Carmichael-Jackson and Winston Peters, and a proud Prince Edward Islander.

A member of the Charlottetown business community, Darren has been employed as an Investment Advisor with CIBC Wood Gundy and predecessor companies (Midland Walwyn/ Merrill Lynch) since 1996. He has had a lifelong interest in government and public policy, has worked as a Special Assistant on Parliament Hill, as a Field Organizer for a national political party, and has been active in political campaigns at the municipal, provincial and federal levels.

Active in a wide variety of business and community based organizations, Darren has served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Investment Dealers Association (P.E.I. District Council), Treasurer of the Prince Edward Island Council of the Arts, Director and Secretary of the Capital Commission of Prince Edward Island, and as a fundraiser and Co-Host and of the 6th and 7th Annual QEH Foundation 21 Hour Equipment Drive.

As a member of the musical Carmichael family and as a singer of traditional folk music, Darren has performed numerous concerts and benefits throughout Prince Edward Island raising money for many worthy Island causes.

Darren resides in Charlottetown.
