State Representative Roger Williams (R-Dalton) represents the 4th District in the Georgia House of Representatives. Rep. Williams is the Chairman of the House Intragovernmental Coordination Committee. He was previously a member of the Georgia House for five consecutives terms (1977-1986). He served on the Ways & Means and the Industrial Relations Committees. He was also the Vice-Chairman of the Legislative & Congressional Reapportionment Committee. Representative Williams was once again elected to the House in 2001 in a special election to fill the unexpired term of the late Harold Mann. Representative Williams is currently also a member of the Industrial Relations and Vice-Chair of the Ways & Means Committees.

In 1995, the legislator graduated from North Georgia College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Just prior to graduation, he became an Infantry Captain in the United States Army. Serving from 1954-1962, Rep. Williams served his tours of duty overseas in Germany and Vietnam. Upon his return in 1963, he became the President of Credit Services, Inc. in Dalton, and with that title he continues to carry to this day. Married to Joann Pope Williams, Rep. Williams and his wife are members of the St. Marks Episcopal Church in Dalton, and is a former member of Vestry and Sunday School Superintendent.

Representative Williams sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Georgia Financial Services Association. He is the past-president of the Georgia Industrial Loan Association, and a member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses. Rep. Williams also serves as a board member and is on the executive committee of the Georgia Community Bank.
