InfoShe was born on February 14, 1947, received her B.S. from Huntingdon College, and M.A. from Auburn University. She and her husband, Van, are the parents of three children: Burt, Ben, and Daniel. Representative McClurkin is the owner of McClurkin Enterprises, and is a member of the Briarwood Presbyterian Church and the Columbia Rotary Club. Representative McClurkin also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Baptist Health System, Vice Chair of Womens Affairs for the Alabama Republican Party, and the Shelby County Republican Executive Committee. She has also served as past Chairman for the Red Cross of Shelby County, past Chairman of the Shelby County Economic Development Council, and former member of the Board of Directors for the YMCA and Briarwood Christian School.
