Gen. Nathaniel King as division quartermaster in the War of 1812; associate judge of Chenango County Court in 1814; justice of the peace in Columbus for twenty-five years; sheriff of Chenango County 1815-1819; elected as a Republican to the Seventeenth Congress (March 4, 1821-March 3, 1823); affiliated with the Whig Party after its formation; resumed agricultural pursuits; died in Columbus, near Sherburne, Chenango County, N.Y., June 2, 1853; interment in Lambs Corners Cemetery.
