InfoCouncilwoman Quillman has been representing the residents of Joliet since 2005. She serves on the City Council Public Safety Committee, Baseball Committee and the Quality of Life Task Force. Jan is also the City Council representative to the Will County Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority which oversees the Rialto Square Theatre. At the Rialto Jan organized and chaired the programming committee in order to bring better acts to the theatre. Jan has been a registered nurse for 31 years and is currently employed at a local Hospital. She received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Thornton Community College and received surgical training at the University of Chicago. Other activities include serving as a member of the Joliet Zoning Board of Appeals from 1995 to 2003 as well as serving on the Will County Center for Economic Development Partnership Board from 1997 to 2005. She is a member of the Slovenian Women’s Union and the St. Joe’s Park Senior group. She is also a member of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic’s Board of Directors.

Family History
Jan has been married to Joliet Police Department Sgt. Tom Quillman for 28 years. They share their home with their niece Katie and two dogs and two cats.

Goals for the City of Joliet
Jan would like to see the City of Joliet grow responsibly while maintaining the older neighborhoods. She would also like to make sure our city services keep up with the growth (i.e. police, fire, public works). Jan’s other focuses include revitalization of Downtown Joliet and the Jefferson Street Corridor. She would like to promote new businesses in Joliet that will create jobs and to continue to work to improve the quality of life for each citizen.
