| Info | Molly M. McGartland was born on January 18th 1972 and grew up in a small community east of Pittsburgh, PA. Molly is the second child of Patrick and Mary McGartland who had three children. Her close ties to her family and Milwaukee have brought them together. Her brother Patrick and sister Bridie have settled with their families in the Milwaukee area, and Pat and Mary live not more than 15 minutes from any of their children.
Molly first moved to Milwaukee and attended Marquette University, and later the UW-Milwaukee to study Sociology and English. And in September of 2000 Molly met Brian Cummings, and found her husband. She moved to St Francis almost 10 years ago where they now live with their two beautiful girls, Maura and Eleanor
Molly is a member of St Paul Parish where she has served as a Parish Council Member advising the Parish Priest and Administrator. Molly has also served on the School Advisory Board for St Thomas Aquinas Academy Catholic School as the Board Chair. This experience has reinforced Molly’s philosophy that the more involved a parent is in their child’s education, the more a child will learn.
From 2001 to 2011, Molly worked as a Realtor® in the Greater Milwaukee Market with a concentration on the South Shore Neighborhoods. She was a Senior Real Estate Specialist, a Condominium Expert and helped dozens of first time buyers into their new homes. Molly has experienced the increase and decrease of the Real Estate Market, and has seen the immediate causalities of the housing bubble and the ongoing recession. And, the lost jobs and foreclosures were exacerbated by Wisconsin’s outrageously high property taxes, general fee increases and over spending. It was only because of Scott Walker and his supporters in the State House that property taxes in many communities have gone down! In 2011, Molly and her husband Brian became the proprietors of The Country Club Tavern in Cudahy. Becoming a small business owner has allowed Molly the firsthand experience of dealing with government regulation and taxes on entrepreneurs. And being an onsite tavern owner has allowed Molly the opportunity to talk to, and more importantly listen to constituents in her district.
