Info | Mary Franson was born and raised in a rural area near Duluth called Saginaw. She grew up on an 80 acre hobby farm and graduated from AlBrook High School, home of the nine man Falcon football team. After high school she continued her education at the University of Minnesota – Duluth. Mary worked her way through college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a minor in Humanities.
Mary and her husband, Karl Christopher (K.C.) now live in Alexandria where K.C. was born and raised. K.C. loves hunting, fishing, cooking, golfing, and most importantly being a dad. He has been employed with Hilltop Lumber for the past 8 years doing sales and estimating. Together, they have four children: Helena (12), Haley (8), Karl (5), and Kahllin (3). The children are all very supportive and very excited with this new chapter in Mary’s life as a candidate for public office. The Franson family has two English Springer Spaniels, June and Cash, named after June Carter and Johnny Cash.
Previously, Mary was employed as a Credit Representative with AT&T, where she was treasurer and president of a non-profit business resource group called Women of AT&T. Currently Mary is a licensed childcare provider and feels fortunate to have the opportunity instill strong family values to the young children in her care. Mary passionately believes children are our future and to be able to have a positive influence on them is a wonderful and rewarding experience.
Mary believes in the sanctity of life from the moment of conception to a natural death. She is a firm believer in traditional marriage – one man and one woman. She supports the individual right to bear arms and is a member of the NRA.
Mary is running for State Representative because she believes in the Constitution and in a limited government that works for the people, by the people, and is of the people. She feels government has grown out of control and opposes the bailouts, buyouts and handouts to powerful special interests
