Info | Vivia only needs her name to distinguish her as a woman of vivacity—full of life and a love for it. The youngest of a family of seven siblings, many contributing factors motivated this proud native of Jamaica to become the determined individual she is today. Focused and organized, Vivia Morgan utilizes all of her natural gifts to express her love for people and live life to the fullest extent.
She began to share her talent with others at a young age. Vivia’s first job as Assistant Manager of Culture Tone Records introduced her to the entertainment industry. There Vivia learned music engineering as a disc-jockey. Before long, her enterprising spirit led her into doing promotions, public relation, and advertising for Culture Tone.
Advancing to a position as Assistant Director of Special Events at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Morgan gained marketing and fundraising skills. These abilities complemented her natural aptitude for communication, hence, her active interest in the performing arts. Vivia’s independent flair is reflected in her occupations in acting and modeling.
This led to her appointment as an aide in the Mayor’s Office of film, Theater and Broadcasting where she learned the “ins and outs” of Film, Television, and Theater Production.
"Mayor Bloomberg has been a real fighter for our community," Vivia said.
After leaving the Mayor's office Vivia became the host of the "The Vivia Morgan Show", a cable show that explored the impact of Caribbean art and music on the American culture. Having realized the stigma attached to being a West-Indian in America, Vivia found the need to open the minds of Americans and fellow West Indians who could not grasp the significance of West Indian culture.
A peek at Vivia’s resume reveals work with notable professionals on movies such as Ransom, directed by Ron Howard; Howard Stern’s Private Parts; on television with Ted Turner for WPIX’s WB Promo lineup, in addition she has appeared on Fox TV’s New York Undercover and worked onVideos for LL Cool J and Biggie Smalls. This however, has not limited her from participating in such community events as the African Street Festival community Boards Meeting to fight for improvement in the community.
Vivia is a member of Local Union 79 and an active board member of the organization "Fight Back" which put dislocated construction workers to work and community affiliates such as the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce, You Gotta Believe, and The Older Child Adoption and Permanency Movement.
