InfoFrom the time I was little, my father and grandfather taught me how to use and respect firearms. As an adult, I became and am presently a member of the National Rifle Association.

I graduated from Blue Ridge High School (1984) and the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg (1993). While at USCS, I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration. From 1985 through 1987, I studied Military Science through the Wofford ROTC Program.

From 1992 until July of this year, at which time I resigned to concentrate on this campaign, I have been employed as a law enforcement officer in South Carolina. I have worked in many different areas of law enforcement but feel that my favorite area was community oriented policing. As a Community Oriented Officer, I enjoyed the interaction with the public and the ability to make positive changes in the community. Throughout the last eight years, I have been privileged to have one of the upstate’s explosive detection police dogs, a handsome labrador retriever. I have also been honored to be able to attend classes sponsored by Homeland Security, focusing on protecting our state, and our country from terrorist threats. I am also a member of the Police Benevolent Association.

In July 1993, I married my wife, Heather, a high school special education teacher. Although we do not have children yet, we love to spend time with our nieces and nephews. We also spend a lot of time with our “children”, the animals. We have three cats and two dogs, one of which is my recently retired police dog.

We are active members of Double Springs Baptist Church in Taylors, SC. My faith and belief in God has been the cornerstone to my approach to life and interaction with people. It has been the anchor that has guided my actions in this world, that at times seems to lack morality and a sense of justice, and that I would use in serving as your representative in the state house for District 17.
