Info | WAYNE, Isaac, (son of Anthony Wayne), a Representative from Pennsylvania; born near Paoli, Chester County, Pa., in 1772; attended the common schools and was graduated from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pa.; studied law; was admitted to the Chester County bar in 1795; member of the State house of representatives 1799-1801 and in 1806; served in the State senate in 1810; during the War of 1812 was captain of a troop of Pennsylvania Horse Cavalry, raised and equipped by himself, and was subsequently colonel of the Second Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; unsuccessful Federalist candidate for Governor in 1814; elected to the Eighteenth Congress (March 4, 1823-March 3, 1825); engaged in agricultural pursuits; died in Chester County, Pa., October 25, 1852; interment in St. David’s Episcopal Church Cemetery, Radnor, Pa.
