InfoJames O. "Jim" Judd, Jr.

Although a relative newcomer to California politics, Jim Judd’s visionary ideas for revitalizing California’s struggling economy reflect a solid conservative viewpoint shaped by his experience as a California entrepreneur and his long-term commitment to the values of the United States Constitution. Judd became active on the political scene in 2009, when his deep concerns about the direction of California and the United States compelled him to co-found the North Bay Patriots, a non-partisan organization dedicated to educating the electorate and upholding the principles of America’s founding fathers. Judd’s identification with constitutional ideals and his concerns about how ill-conceived economic policies on the local, state, and federal levels result in business contractions and job losses are primary impetuses behind his bid for a California congressional seat.

The challenges Judd faced during his childhood years in northern California taught him early-on to embrace the values of individual responsibility and hard work, values exemplified by his accomplishments as a high school athlete. Judd’s parents divorced when he was young, and Judd and his siblings were moved several times before his mother remarried, eventually settling the family in Petaluma, California. Judd distinguished himself at Petaluma High School, graduating in 1974 after an illustrious career in football and track: in football, Judd was selected as an All-American, NBL All–League, and Marin Sonoma Counties All Bay; in track his Petaluma team placed tenth in the nation in the 2-mile relay.

Judd’s business experience makes him uniquely prepared to represent the interests of California’s small businesses, which are so vital to the economy and responsible for over 50% of the state’s private employment. Judd learned from his stepfather that a small business is free enterprise in its purest sense; and at the completion of his education, Judd entered the workforce in pursuit of the entrepreneurial American dream. After rising through the ranks in a manufacturing enterprise, Judd perceived a market opportunity in heavy metal fabrication, and he capitalized on the pro-small business policies of the Reagan administration to co-launch a successful manufacturing company, J&M Manufacturing, which ships products all over the United States. Judd also manages a 200-acre ranch with cattle in Yorkville, CA.

Judd is married to Audrey, his high school sweetheart; they have two married daughters, Jennifer and Christine, and three grand-children. Judd’s son-in-law, Andy, currently serves in the Navy flying F-18As. Judd’s other son-in-law, Jose, was recently naturalized as a U.S. citizen.
