Info | Jeff Greene started with nothing and through hard work became one of America’s most successful businessmen – creating jobs and getting results. Jeff is an outsider with real world experience and the courage to take on Washington and put the people of Florida first.
Jeff understands the struggle of hard-working Floridians personally. When he was young, he saw his father lose his textile business and livelihood. This experience taught Jeff how quickly one can lose everything – even after a lifetime spent working hard and playing by the rules – and solidified in Jeff’s mind that no American should ever live with that fear.
After his dad lost his business, Jeff’s family moved to Florida nearly 40 years ago. His dad worked refilling vending machines and his mother, who had been a school teacher, took on a job as a waitress to help make ends meet. Jeff started working at an early age and through hard work and dedication – from paper routes to busing tables and telemarketing – paid his own way through Johns Hopkins and Harvard Business School.
An incredible entrepreneur, Jeff has successfully built businesses and created jobs for more than 30 years. From creating a successful promotions business during college to building a real estate business, Jeff knows how to get results and make a difference.
Described as “gutsy” and “one of those rare people who smelled trouble in housing when times were flush,” Jeff had the courage to take on Wall Street, make bold investments, and had success beyond his wildest dreams – it’s called the American dream – and Jeff believes we must preserve and protect that dream for his six-month-old son Malcolm and for all of Florida’s children.
Jeff is a Democrat, raised by his parents on Democratic principles and values, but he will take on career politicians in either party who put playing politics ahead of getting results. As a U.S. Senator, Jeff will use his tenacity, hard work, and successful business experience to create jobs and deliver real results for Florida.
His top priorities will be creating good-paying jobs and protecting the jobs we have, fixing the economy, improving our education system, ending our dependence on foreign oil, and changing the way that politics is done so that all Floridians have a real voice in Washington and can regain their faith in our system.
Jeff’s family moved to Florida in 1970, and his 83-year-old mother has lived in West Palm Beach for over 40 years. Jeff and his wife and their son Malcolm live in Palm Beach.
