| Info | Imam Ali Rahmonov is tajik, was born in October 5th, 1952 in Dangara settlement of Kulob region. In 1992 - graduated from the Tajik State University, is an economist by specialty. A Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Tajikistan of XII convocation.
His professional activity Imam Ali Rahmonov began in 1971 as an electrician of the creamery of Kurgan-Tube city. Since 1972-1974 - served in the Soviet Army. After demobilization he continued working at the creamery. In 1976-1988 - held a post of the secretary of the governing and the Chairman of the trade union committee of collective farm of Dangara region, after that he used to work in the Party boards.
Since June, 1988 - a director of Lenin state farm of Dangara region. In November, 1992 he was elected a chairman of the executive committee of Kulob regional Council of people deputies. In November, 19th in the XVI session of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Tajikistan of XII convocation Imam Ali Rahmonov was elected a chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Tajikistan. In November,6th 1994 - was elected a President of the Republic of Tajikistan. In November 16th , 1994 - was put on oath. In Novembert 16th, 1994 - was reelected a President of the Republic of Tajikistan for a period of seven years in accordance with the changes introducted in the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan in 26th of September,1999.
He is married and have nine children.
