InfoFarid A. Khavari is not a politician. He is an economist and author, a family man and business owner.

Since the problems we face are mainly economic ones, which were created by politicians, it makes sense to have an economist solve our problems, not another politician.

Farid's plans to bring economic security to all Floridians are not new rhetoric, but are based on his economic work for the past 35 years.

To Farid, the Governor's office is not a stepping stone to the U.S. senate or to the White House. The Governor's office is a solemn trust from the people of Florida, an opportunity to put plans into actions for the benefit of all Floridians, not to further the fame and fortune of an individual.

Farid has been deeply aware of the impact of energy costs on all aspects of the economy, since his first book, The Oil Crisis Threatening the Prosperity of the West, in 1973, followed by The Oil Price Policy of the OPEC Countries: Limits, Reasons and Backgrounds in 1975, and OPEC and the New World Economic Order in 1976.

His understanding of today's health care crisis is shown in his 1990 book Vultures: Doctors, Lawyers, Hospitals and Insurance Companies, What's Wrong and What To Do About It.

While the recent crazy oil and gas prices were a surprise to politicians, Farid wrote Oil and Islam: The Ticking Bomb in 1990.

Although today's politicians seem to have discovered the concept of a green economy, Farid's 1993 book Environomics: The Economics of Environmentally Safe Prosperity explains that economic growth and prosperity can also be the means of caring for our environment.

His 2008 book Towards a Zero-Cost Economy: A Blueprint to Create General Economic Security in a Carefree Economy explains how economic security can be achieved for everyone, while protecting the environment, by freezing, reducing, and in many cases eliminating the recurring costs of living. This book is available in book stores or you can download it for free here.

For over 35 years, Farid A. Khavari has been ahead of his time. Now the time has come for Farid A. Khavari.

Politicians got us into this mess through ignorance, corruption, greed, and plain stupidity. Should we trust another politician to make things better? Should we wait around for Washington to come to our rescue? Or should Florida fix its own economy and provide an example to America and the world of what can happen when a governor with real plans cares about all of the people of Florida?

Looking at Farid's life, it is remarkable that the right person to be Florida's next governor came from such humble beginnings.

Farid A. Khavari was born in 1943 in the city of Yazd, Iran. Two years later, he moved with his parents to India. His parents went there due to his father's work as a respected leader of the Baha'i faith. The family returned to Iran in 1954. Farid excelled in his studies, and served for two years in the education corps as a teacher in the village of Liavole Oliya in north Iran, where he initiated and completed the building of a school, sanitation, and clean water for the villagers. At a time when Iran was America's strong ally, Farid helped Iran modernize. His advice was sought by various government agencies and even the Shah himself. He earned the support of a grateful country so he could study at the University of Hamburg and the University of Bremen (Germany), where he earned his doctorate in economics. Prior to takeover of Iran by Islamic fundamentalists, Farid and his late wife, Louise, came to the United States in 1977 to begin a new life.

Settling in Miami in 1978, Farid got involved in the solar energy business. In December 1978, his wife was killed in a medical malpractice. A year later, his father was executed by the radical Islamic regime of Ayatollah Khomeini for the crime of not renouncing his Baha'i faith.

In 1985, Farid married Janilla and started a family. Armin was born in 1987 and Bianca in 1988. Farid and his wife operate a small business in Miami; and have lived in the same Miami home for over 20 years.

In 2007 and 2008, Farid saw his worst economic fears become reality, and realized that unless something was done, Florida and the United States faced a depression unprecedented in history. Putting aside his plans for a comfortable retirement, he realized that he must take action by publicizing his solutions and running for governor so that he could implement his plans for the benefit of all Floridians.

Let's send Farid A. Khavari, a visionary economist with a sound blueprint to Tallahassee, to work for all Floridians, and not for certain interests groups.
