InfoHiep Q. Nguyen was born on April 25, 1982 in Tay Ninh, Vietnam. Hiep is the sixth child out of a twelve-member family. Along with his family, Hiep immigrated to the United States in 1991. Hiep and his family temporarily resided in Atlanta, Georgia when they first arrived in America. Shortly after, the entire family came to Massachusetts, and settled in Boston, Massachusetts where they have been living ever since. Hiep grew up in the housing projects of South Boston.

Hiep attended St. William's grammar school. He then went to and graduated from Boston Latin Academy. After high school, Hiep attended and received his bachelor's in accountancy and master's in taxation from Bentley College, Waltham, Massachusetts.

Hiep's professional career began while he was in college when he interned at the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC). After graduation, Hiep received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate and continued at PwC for three more years before opening up his own accounting firm in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

Throughout his life, Hiep has been involved with volunteer work in the community. He has been an active member of his church, where he is a Sunday school teacher and leader of the youth group. Additionally, Hiep has taken on active roles at nonprofit organizations whose goals are to assist the under-privileged and under-represented. Currently, Hiep is the President of the Board of Directors of the Vietnamese American Civic Association (VACA), an organization whose mission is to promote family self-sufficiency and well being, and to facilitate community empowerment among the immigrant population of Boston and Greater Boston.

Given his background, Hiep Q. Nguyen is running to be a member of the Boston City Council to provide a strong, vocal voice for all residents of Boston and to assist them in every possible way so that they, too, can realize and maintain the American dream.
