| Info | Scott is a lifelong resident of Illinois and has been creating jobs for our residents for the past twenty years. Scott understands the challenges we face, and sees opportunities to make our state a better place to live, work and raise a family. Scott will draw on his business and real estate experience to provide solutions to our troubled housing market and create good-paying jobs and economic opportunity in Illinois. As an advocate for the Junior Council of Children’s Memorial Hospital, Scott knows the value of healthcare and will work hard to provide affordable health insurance for all Illinois residents.
Scott is committed to upholding the integrity of the office of Lieutenant Governor and fighting corruption in Springfield. When it became clear that Governor Blagojevich would not do the right thing and step aside for the good of Illinois, Scott started a group called Rod Must Resign and held a demonstration outside the Governor’s Chicago office with over 250 Illinois residents. Scott collected signatures for a petition requesting the Governor’s resignation and mailed them to his Springfield office.
As Lieutenant Governor, Scott will be determined to finding alternative energy sources and positioning Illinois as a leader in green technology. Scott will work hard to provide our children equal access to a first-class education and ensure their ability to compete in the global economy.
Scott is the proud father of four children and currently operates Cohen Green Cleaning Supplies, a distributor of environmentally friendly cleaning products. Scott is also an advocate of the Jeffrey Pride Childhood Cancer Foundation, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
