Prior to joining Pierce Atwood Consulting, Ted served as the director of corporate communications for Guy Gannet Communications, a Maine-based media holding company that owned three daily newspapers in Maine and television stations in six states. After Guy Gannett was sold, he become director of marketing and communications for Blethen Maine Newspapers, which purchased Guy Gannett’s newspapers in Maine, including the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram. He served as the principal spokesperson for both media companies and led their overall marketing, communications, and community relations activities.

Ted also was a co-founder and principal of the former McDonald/O’Meara Communications, a highly successful advertising and public relations firm, and was an independent public affairs consultant with clients in Maine and Washington, D.C.

Long active in Maine politics, Ted served as U.S. Senator Olympia Snowe’s chief staff person in Maine during her first term in the U.S. House of Representatives and then as executive assistant to former Senator William S. Cohen for eight years. He has also been a candidate for Congress and state party chair, and has played a leading role in several statewide campaigns.

A Maine native and an active member of the community, Ted earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Maine.
