InfoJudge Robert C. Wright was elected in 1991 to the Court of Common Pleas for a full ten-year term commencing in
January of 1992, previously having served ten years in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 159th legislative district (Chester, Upland, Trainer, Eddystone, part of Chester and Ridley Townships). He was retained for another ten-year term in November, 2001.

A native of Chester, he is a 1962 graduate of Chester High School, a 1966 graduate of the George Washington University and a 1969 graduate of Villanova University Law School. Judge Wright has also completed the General Jurisdiction course at the National Judicial College, University of Nevada at Reno.

As a member of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, he serves on the Legislative Liaison Committee.

He has been active in many civic and charitable organizations. Prior to his elevation to the Bench, Judge Wright maintained an active general law practice for over twenty years and served as solicitor for a number of municipal and civic organizations.

His father, Senior Judge Robert A. Wright, administered the oath of office to him when he joined the Pennsylvania
House of Representatives and also when he joined the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County. The former event is said to be the first in the history of the House, and the latter marks the first time that a father and son have served on this Court at the same time.
