Info | FRY, Joseph, Jr., a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Upper Saucon Township, Northampton (later Lehigh) County, Pa., August 4, 1781; attended the rural schools; engaged in mercantile pursuits in Fryburg (later Coopersburg), Lehigh County, Pa.; member of the State house of representatives in 1816 and 1817; served in the State senate 1817-1821; served in the State militia and attained the rank of colonel; elected to the Twentieth Congress and reelected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-first Congress (March 4, 1827-March 3, 1831); was not a candidate for renomination in 1830; resumed business activities; member of the State constitutional convention in 1837 and 1838; died in Allentown, Pa., August 15, 1860; interment in Union Cemetery.
