Info | Todd Lally is seeking Kentucky’s 3rd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is life-long resident of Louisville and an Atherton High School graduate whose family has roots in this community for over 120 years. Lally is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Kentucky Air National Guard and a pilot on the C-130 Hercules. Having served in the military for 22 years, he is a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. He is graduate of the Academy of Military Science and the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center and the Air-Operations Officer for the 123rd Contingency Response Group, a rapidly deployable force that can open and conduct airlift missions out of remote or damaged airfields. This group is the first Air Force personnel to arrive at a location to survey the airfield and perform combat or humanitarian operations. Lally is the recipient of two Air Medals. The first medal was for flying 50 missions into war torn Bosnia supplying the civilian population with food and medicine. The second medal was for saving a Seattle man’s life in the Atlantic Ocean. He also is a crash investigator for the U.S. Air Force. For the last four years he has been the “Voice of Thunder over Louisville” providing live commentary for Cox Radio. He also served as the past Vice-President of the National Guard Association of Kentucky.
Todd Lally is employed as a First Officer on the Boeing 757/767 flying international routes for UPS and a member in good standing of the Independent Pilot’s Association since 2000.
Lally has been on the Jefferson County Republican Party Executive Committee and previously ran for the State Legislature in the Highlands & Crescent Hill area. The Courier-Journal wrote “Lally is a promising candidate, one who should find a way to run again. It’s too bad he doesn’t live in another district– one where a Republican stands a better chance to win.” Married for 16 years to his high school sweetheart, Heather, they have two daughters age 9 & 13.
