InfoMy name is Norma Munoz. I have been a member of south Phoenix almost all of my life. I raised my five children in this community and most of them still live here today. I am proud to be a part of the Roosevelt family and I have a passion to ensure that the Roosevelt School District schools be the best that they can possibly be. I am running for school board because I believe that the stability, the continuity, and the momentum that have been a big part of the significant improvement in the Roosevelt school district are crucial and critical and must continue in order to bring this district to a stellar status in academics.

Recently, Roosevelt School district was recognized by the State Board of Education for the significant progress in learning that this year’s AIMS tests revealed and the solid implementation of improvement that the district, with the direction of the school board, did to make this possible. And, because of this improvement the threat of a state takeover was dismissed. I am proud to have been a part of this success!

I want to continue to advocate for our children of the south Phoenix community and work hard to make Roosevelt School district one that we can all be proud of.

Proven Leadership:

Turned RSD from a failing district to a performing plus/performing district
Saved the district over $2.5 million dollars on unnecessary consultants - putting dollars back into the classroom
Turned a 1 million dollar deficit in Food Services into a surplus
Established a fair and unbiased hiring practices procedure
Implemented "Free" breakfast program for all children
