The World's Longest Walk
Cross Carried in Every Nation
Arthur Blessitt has completed a historic and unprecedented crosswalk in every nation on earth. He has carried on foot a 12 ft. cross for Jesus around the world since 1969. Through wars, deserts, jungles, 296 countries, 7 continents, and 35,878 miles (57,738 km) The Guinness Book of World Records 1996-2003 lists this as ?The World?s Longest Walk?. This modern day pilgrim has faced a firing squad, been arrested 24 times, been through 50 countries at war, fasted 40 days, ran for President of the United States and has walked with 70,000 people across Poland. He has been on all major news worldwide. Billy Graham has walked with him, Pope John Paul II has welcomed him to Rome, Yasser Arafat has welcomed him to Beirut and he has slept in Prime Minister Begin's house in Israel. He has carried the cross through such places as Iraq, North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan, Russia, China, South Africa, Lebanon, India, Antarctica, Palestine, Israel, Cuba, Libya, Yemen, Vietnam and Mongolia, etc. He has now been on the longest journey in the history of the world. Arthur says, "I love God and I love people. I try to keep it simple". Speaking of the walk he said, "Jesus did it! And it is all for the glory of God. Denise and I are but simple servant followers of Jesus?

Arthur Blessitt is 62 years old. At the age of 7 he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord of his life. He married Denise Irja Blessitt from England in 1990 and she accompanies him now on all his trips..
They are now doing ?Celebration Crosswalks? in every US state and Canadian Province.
They also plan to make special ?Crosswalks? back to revisit many nations and walk with the cross in about thirty small island groups in remote places on earth.

September 1969 Jesus' call "Carry the cross on foot - identify My message in the highways, road-sides where the people are".
December 25, 1969 Began carrying the cross across America.
August 1971 Jesus' call "Carry the cross to other nations".
September 1, 1971 Began carrying the cross across England.
February 26, 1977 Arrived in Jerusalem with the cross "Lord, do I stop or go on?" I prayed on Mt. Sinai. Jesus said, "I've called you to the common man, with peasants of the world, to sweat, walk in the rain, smell exhaust fumes, sleep on the road. Go! I want you to go all the way".
April 2, 1979 The vision of the Glory of the Lord "Arthur, Proclaim the Glory of the coming of the Lord is at hand".
June 1981 At the "Iron Curtain" East Germany the Lord said, "There are no walls!"
March 31, 1988 Jesus said, "I want you to commit your life to carry the cross in every nation by the Year 2000!"
June 2, 1990 Denise and I vowed to God at our wedding to go in obedience to His call to carry the cross to every nation by the Year 2000 as Jesus so wills
November 1, 1993 God spoke "Pray for others, I will take care of you".
December 25, 1998 Walked back now Sunset Strip in Hollywood to the same place where the cross walk began 29 years ago!
